The constructing of standardized management mode of health education in cardiothoracic surgery ICU

Objective: Through constructing the standardized management mode of health education in the ICU of cardiothoracic surgery, to improve the post-operative patients' knowledge of health education and their degree of satisfaction. Methods: By analyzing the current situation of health education, the existing problems were determined, and the contents of preoperative health education and the health education pathway in ICU period were formulated. The ICU nurses carried out the health education during preoperative period, ICU period and the day the patients transferred to the common wards. The quality evaluation standard was perfected and evaluated. Results: Patients' knowledge of health education and their degree of satisfaction were improved significantly. Conclusion: The standardized management mode of health education in the ICU of cardiothoracic surgery can improve patients' knowledge of their diseases and the degree of satisfaction. It can also improve the post-operative nursing quality.
