Pacemaker Dysfunction after Resuscitation

The case of a 85 year old patient being resuscitated during haemodialysis is presented. The initial ECG ( ) after successful resuscitation with 6 DC shocks shows an exit block and undersensing. The paper discusses the causes of pacemaker dysfunction after defibrillation and possible protective manoeuvres.
