Size and shape controlled seed mediated biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles

Seed mediated routes for synthesis of nano particles are of much importance today as it enables fine tuning of the size and shape of the synthesized nanoparticles. Herein we have synthesized silver nanoparticles via seed mediated procedure using green synthesis method. This is done by chemical reduction of AgNO3 with Oxalis corniculata leaf broth. The morphology and optical properties of the particles were investigated using FESEM, AFM and UV- visible absorption spectroscopy. The crystallinity of the as prepared samples were analyzed using XRD. The SERS activities of these samples as substrates were tested with crystal violet molecule and are described in detail.
