THE illicit use of drugs has become a major national problem. Often, the user has no knowledge of the pharmacologic actions of the drug, and, sometimes, he may not even know the type of drug he is taking.1 Frequently, the imputed drug may actually be, in part or in whole, a completely different compound.2 Recently, two patients were treated for botulism that proved to be intoxication due to cliphenylhydantoin-adulterated marijuana.
