Cooling and hardening of metall objects are substantially affected by the Leidenfrost-point. At the beginning of the cooling process a sturdy vapour film is formed around the object, which impairs the heat transfer between the object and the cooling fluid. After a collapse of the vapour film at the Leidenfrost-point an intensified heat transfer takes place. A goal of this investigations is examining whether the Leidenfrost-point can be altered by a flow of nitrogen bubbles directed towards the cooled object.
