Nursing intervention for preventing complications after endoscopic sinus surgery in patients with diabetes

Objective To explore the efficacy of nursing intervention for preventing the complications after endoscopic sinus surgery in the patients with diabetes.Method 120 patients with diabetes undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery were randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group,60 patients for each group.Both groups received the same conventional treatment and care.In addition,the intervention group received positive psychological education such as health education before and after surgery,postoperative observation,glycemic control,nasal wound treatment,and other nursing interventions at the same time.Results Only 11 cases (18.3%) got complications in intervention group,while 48 cases (80.0%) in control group,with a statistical difference (P < 0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention can effectively reduce the incidence of the complications after endoscopic sinus surgery,improve the curative effect,and alleviate the suffering of diabetic patients.
