Effect of hemoperfusion on the serum levels of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α in hemodialysis patients with uremia

2007
Objective:To investigate the effect and clinical significance of hemoperfusion (HP) on the serum levels of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α in hemodialysis (HD) patients with uremia. Methods:With the self-controlled method,30 maintenance hemodialysis patients enrolled in this study were divided into two groups, which were treated with the combined treatment of hemodialysis and hemoperfusion as HD plus HP group and with hemodialysis alone as HD group. The serum levels of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α were detected respectively before and after the treatment.Results:(1)After the treatment, the serum level of TNF-α in the HD plus HP group was decreased significantly (P0.05);the serum levels of IL-6 and IL-8 decredsed slightly without statistically significant differenct (P0.05).(2)All the serum levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-8 were increased slightiy, but without significant difference. Conclusion:Hemodialysis has no effects on the serum levels of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α.The combined treatment hemodialysis and hemoperfusion can safely and effectively clear the serum level of TNF-α,so it is benefical to correct the abnormal immune status in the uremic patients.
