The invention relates to the technical field of composite science and environmental protection, and in particular relates to a method for preparing a high-performance coal dust suppressant. The invention aims to overcome the shortcomings of long film-forming setting time, poor bonding strength and toughness, poor high/low temperature resistance and the like of the existing coal dust suppressant when in use. The high-performance coal dust suppressant is prepared from sodium carboxyethyl cellulose, sodium carboxypropyl starch, hydrogen peroxide, glycerol, calcium chloride, sodium fluoride, polyvinyl alcohol, glycol, dibutyl phthalate, bentonite and water. The method comprises the following steps of: firstly dissolving the sodium carboxyethyl cellulose and the sodium carboxypropyl starch, adding the hydrogen peroxide to the solution to arouse oxidization reaction; next, adding the glycerol to the solution and adjusting the pH value of the solution to 6.5-7.5; and finally, orderly adding the polyvinyl alcohol, calcium chloride, sodium fluoride, dibutyl phthalate, bentonite and glycol and adding water, and stirring, and evenly mixing, thereby obtaining the high-performance coal dust suppressant. The method provided by the invention is simple to operate, simple and convenient to prepare, low in cost and convenient for operation; and the method meets the environmental protection requirement and has excellent social benefit and economic benefit.
