Mecanismos esenciales en la hipertensión arterial: Nuevas contribuciones en su etiopatogenia

2004
Summary ESSENTIAL MECHANISMS OF ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION Renal microvascular disease, renal ischemia and a physiologic defect in sodium excretion are critical in the pathogenesis of hypertension. The identification of inflammatory, angiogenic, oxidative and immune mechanisms in the development of hypertension also suggests new areas for study. Further investigation of possible approaches to reversing the arteriolar and tubulo interstitial injury may reveal targets for future therapies.
