Neutrino-electron scattering in left-right-symmetric models.

1994
The neutral-current scattering cross section for neutrinos on electrons is calculated under the assumption that neutrinos have mass, and the right-handed currents are present in the framework of a left-right-symmetric model (LRSM). Limits on the LRSM parameters and the neutrino mass are obtained using the experimental data and the SN 1987A measurements. We discuss the relationship between the electron neutral couplings [ital g][sub [ital A]][sup [ital e]] and [ital g][sub [ital V]][sup [ital e]] and the LRSM parameters. We found that the LRSM parameters are restricted to be in the region 0.012[le][phi][le]0.044 and [ital M][sub [ital Z]2][ge]769 GeV. We also found a restriction to the neutrino mass [ital m][sub [nu]][le]8.6 keV, which applies to the [mu] or [tau] neutrino.
