Hyperuricemia and cardiovascular continuum

2013
Abstract Many recent reports suggest the relationship between hyperuricemia, risk and prognosis of arterial hypertension and coronary heart disease. The works on the clinical and prognostic significance in chronic heart failure are few even if this pathology deteriorates prognosis of some cardiovascular diseases. Hyperuricemia is considered to be a component of cardiovascular continuum, risk factor of chronic heart failure and marker of its unfavourable outcome. Prognostic significance of hyperuricemia in patients with chronic heart failure is discussed.
