Measuring the adequacy of peritoneal dialysis: is there a link with nutrition and outcome?

1996
Adequacy of peritoneal dialysis is predictive of outcome but the absolute evidence for setting optimal levels or targets is still lacking. The link between adequacy and nutrition is also tenuous and appears to be based on a mathematical relationship. The ability of standard continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis regimes to provide adequate dialysis may be limited in anuria and in large individuals.
