Traumatic intracerebral implantation of Cladosporium trichoides.

A patient with intracerebral Cladosporium trichoides infection following traumatic inoculation is described. In previously reported cases, treatment with antifungal agents was unsuccessful. Following combined therapy with amphotericin B and 5-fluorocytosine, our patient remains well and without evidence of infection 27 months after injury.
